Connecting Locations Together to Act as One

Seamlessly connecting multiple locations together has never been easier or more cost-effective. The Inter-Tel Converged Communication Platform is designed around a distributed open architecture for maximum efficiency and reliability. Whether you have 3 sites or 60, all of your locations can interact in a completely seamless fashion over your IP data network.

Seamless connectivity via Inter-Tel solutions means your employees can work more closely and your customers can be handled more efficiently. Everything you can do in one location can be done between geographically dispersed locations. All of the advanced features of the Inter-Tel Converged Communications Platform, such as Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) hunt groups, call center applications, paging zones, centralized attendants and tightly integrated voice mail remain in place even when you are networking over IP. To initiate, transfer or conference a call, you simply dial an extension. And, you can reduce expenses by eliminating intra-company long distance telephone charges. By leveraging refined voice compression and echo cancellation, your calls will take up minimal space on your data network and your end users won't even know you are doing it.

A Centralized Phone System with Phones Worldwide

By using Inter-Tel's IP Resource Card (IPRC) or IP Networking Module as part of your communications solution, your phone system is everywhere you want it to be. With feature-rich, IP-based endpoints, such as Inter-Tel's Model 8660 and IP SoftPhone, your data network connects with your remote employees, satellite offices and warehouse facilities as if they were all in the same building. Because IP phones are fully integrated with Inter-Tel's Converged Communications Platform, users anywhere have access to the functionality of the phone system such as transferring calls, conferencing, accessing voice mail, record-a-call and much more. Even call center agents working off-site do not sacrifice functionality. They can be part of hunt groups or call routing patterns, and supervisors can monitor their calls as if they were in the office. Additionally, the Model 8660 and IP SoftPhone eliminate the need for a separate phone system in each location; and they provide you with functionality, mobility and flexibility like you've never experienced.

The IPRC is a multipurpose card for IP-based communications. Controlled through software, the IPRC can be used in three ways. The IPRC can help you transparently network thousands of locations without the need for a separate gateway. Or, with a different software configuration, the IPRC connects IP endoints and remote IP gateways.

Standard-based Connectivity

Inter-Tel is committed to delivering standards-based IP telephony solutions. The Inter-Tel Converged Communications System uses standard Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) to communicate with third-party gateways. This allows Call Processing to use remote gateways, with a connection to the PSTN, as access points for inbound and outbound call functionality. MGCP also provides local dial tone and 911 capabilities to remotely-deployed IP phones. Additionally, trunk interfaces can be deployed remotely, without a PBX.

Inter-Tel's SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) Server provides a foundation for standards-based communications within a converged IP environment. SIP allows Call Processing to communicate with products, such as the Cisco 7960 IP Phone, Cisco voice-enabled routers, Windows® XP, Microsoft Passport® network and a series of upcoming Inter-Tel SIP-enabled IP phones. Inter-Tel's future support for standard protocols protects your investment and provides you with the flexibility needed to communicate more effectively.

For your e-commerce business, Inter-Tel offers Talk to Agent®. Talk to Agent enables you to turn your Web-browsing customers' multimedia PCs into phones. Inter-Tel's IP Networking Module The Inter-Tel IP Networking Module allows you to easily migrate to IP networking. The IP Networking Module accepts voice transmissions from your Inter-Tel Converged Communications System, converts it into data (VoIP) and transmits real-time voice alongside your organization's computer traffic, such as e-mail. As a result, you'll eliminate costly inter-office long distance telephone charges. Instead, you'll pay a flat rate for both voice and data communications between facilities.
