Inter-tel IP Telephony... Internet Protocal Resource Card The IPRC provides a migration-friendly, cost-effective way to add Voice over IP to an Inter-Tel converged system. The functionality of this general purpose card is controlled through software, so it can remain flexible and offer a variety of connectivity options. One version of software allows the Inter-Tel converged system to transparently connect offices together over an IP network for seamless voice communications. In a different software configuration, the IPRC controls IP endpoints and remote PSTN connections. The IPRC is available in various port configurations, which are controlled through a software license. When used as an interface for IP phones and remote PSTN lines, the IPRC is available in 8 or 16 channels. When used to transparently network phone systems together, the IPRC is available in 4, 8 and 16 channels. Additionally, a daughter card can be placed on the IPRC to increase its transparent networking capacity to 24 or 32 channels, which is also controlled through a software license. The IPRC can be added to the Axxess® converged system as more IP channels are needed. It can be used concurrently with all the previous station and trunk cards, such as the IPC (Internet Protocol Card), the digital and analog station cards, and T1 and Loop-Start cards. The IPRC design also meets demands for higher density IP-enabled solutions. With the IPRC, total IP system capacity doubles on the converged communications platform. The capacity of a stand-alone system grows from approximately 400 IP stations to over 800 IP stations. When used with a networked system, the capacity of the seamless environment exceeds 40,000 extensions using a variety of IP, digital, analog and wireless phones. The IPRC also allows trunks to be placed almost anywhere your IP network reaches. Using the industry standard Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP), the IPRC can communicate with remote VoIP gateways connected to the public telephone network. This allows calls to come to and from the public network in locations where the phone system does not reside. Features
