efficiently by compressing voice from 64 kilobits per second (Kbps) to
as low as 8 Kbps per voice channel. This dramatic decrease in bandwidth
usage means you can deliver nearly eight times the amount of voice
communications across your data network as you could with an
uncompressed voice transmission. Less bandwidth for voice means more for
data, ensuring that both will flow reliably across your network to their
final destinations.
